So, here are the covers of my next little rush of DVDs. Honestly I think that with films, the cover says nothing. I think the cover of Amelie is okayish and the one of Before Sunrise plain horrible. I also kind of dislike the cover of “Life as a House”, but that’s not a particularily great movie anyways, I admit that I only bought that one out of nostalgy.
All in all, I’m very glad to have purchased these though, especially for the price :3 Here’s the rundown:
– Before Sunrise: 6 euro
– Before Sunset: 6 euro
– A Fish Called Wanda: 4 euro
– Life as a House: 6 euro
– Amélie: 5 euro

Because of the horrible light conditions, it took me an eternity to take a decent picture of my DVDs as a whole. As you can easily see, I barely have any! I wouldn’t even call it a collection – I have way more favourite movies than DVDs XD More than that, all these DVDs are german, we also have whole bunch of chinese DVDs which I will not put on display here. What is missing on this picture are a video of “Magnolia”, my DVD of “Night on Earth” and all the copied DVDs. (And I have 16 of them O.o)
What really bugs me about this ‘collection’ is the same as with books. Sometimes you have to tilt your head towards the left and sometimes to the right to read the titles. I have a tilting-my-head-complex, like other people have a symmetry complex XXXD
Oh god, you bought Before Sunrise and its sequel! Hoho, those are films that are rewatchable indeed.
And the cover for Before Sunrise is really ugly, you’re right. It’s a bit “Romeo and Julia”-like, in a more kitschy style – but the film isn’t anything like Romeo and Julia at all…
PS: AAAH, I should watch it once again! And I finally have to go to the graveyard shown in the movie the next time I’m in Vienna (I forgot it again this time, hm)
Yes, I know. I actually have watched Before Sunrise 3 times already. Initially it was alone, I have forgotten with who the second time, and with Alstan the third time. I am sure I am going to watch this at least another time in my life again, heh.
I think we already have established that it’s ugly before, ahaha. But really, I didn’t get the impression of Romeo & Julia, it’s just that both characters really look much better in the second movie, especially Ethan Hawke (oh god, somebody please burn his beard in “Before Sunrise”).
You should go to that graveyard and take lots of pictures for us! XXXD When Alstan went to Vienna earlier this year, we tried to research where that graveyard was, and apparently there are loads and loads of beautiful graveyards in Vienna, but this one is particularily far away from the city centre and difficult to find. It’s also not active anymore (no recently deceased people are buried there).
I wonder how many other movies there exist where I want to see the respective places they are playing at, hmm. There is 25th Hour and of course, Before Sunrise. What else? Hmm.
